PlayTribe

Tuesday, 18:40. You want to play. Nobody has made a plan. PlayTribe turns that moment into a game with people, a place and a time.

01 / Idea & concept

Sport is rarely the blocker.
The plan is.

PlayTribe starts from a small but repeated moment: you want to be active, but nobody has made a plan. The product is designed to turn that uncertainty into an activity with people, a place and a time.

02 / The problem

When motivation meets an empty group chat.

The hard part is not discovering that sport exists. It is the social logistics around it: who is going, whether it suits your level, how many spots remain and where the conversation will happen once you join.

Instead of sending a person through separate tools for discovery, details and coordination, PlayTribe keeps the decision inside one event object. The object carries the context from the first browse through to attendance.

03 / The product in motion

One free evening.
Four small moves.

Discover

Find something that can happen nearby.

Explore and map views turn a vague intention into an activity with a real place and time.

Decide

Read the room before committing.

Time, place, spots, level and people make the social context clear before joining.

Join

Keep the plan and conversation together.

Once joined, practical coordination stays inside the event instead of moving to another channel.

Play

Turn a plan into a habit.

Joined and hosted events live in one place, ready for the next invitation.

04 / UI

Warm enough to join.
Clear enough to decide.

The interface deliberately avoids the visual language of performance tracking. Cream, sage and editorial type make it feel like a local invitation, while coral marks the moments where a decision or action is needed.

05 / UX

A social loop
with fewer loose ends.

The core loop reduces the number of jumps a person makes to organise a social activity. Browse nearby options, understand the room, join, then keep coordination attached to the event and its participants.

06 / Development

Built as one connected product.

The app is built in Flutter with a structured navigation layer, Supabase-backed event data, maps and participant-only realtime chat. It is live on Google Play; this case documents the shipped product and its technical foundation rather than claiming adoption metrics.

A product, not a campaign

Less time organising. More chance of actually going.

The app is PlayTribe’s community product. The website is its invitation.
